Have Pens Will Dazzle presents:
Welcome to the World of Rennie Revisited!
with Kathy Milici
Charles Rennie Mackintosh (1868-1928) was a well-known Scottish architect and artist who was a key figure of the Art Nouveau design movement.
Rennie, along with his wife, Margaret McDonald, was known for his innovative work in interior design, furniture, and textiles. His handwritten, all-caps alphabet was deliberately crafted for legibility and clarity in his architectural drawings, and it was not his regular handwriting style. The style is unmistakable. Rennie was considered the Frank Lloyd Wright of his time.
In this class, you’ll learn the step-by-step process of creating the distinctive monoline alphabet designed by Rennie, influenced by his architectural writing with its curvilinear lines and elegant simplicity. You'll also learn how to draw and paint the famous Rennie rose as well as a simple bird and tree design.
What's in this 2-day Zoom workshop?
